About Therapy

Therapy takes place in a quiet, confidential setting and is a partnership between client and therapist. In therapy, the client has complete freedom to say whatever is on their mind, without judgement, criticism or blame.

I work from a psychodynamic perspective which recognises that present difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, can be linked to earlier experiences. We often unconsciously recreate patterns from the past in our current relationships. These patterns can be unhelpful, leading, for example, to repeatedly unfulfilling or destructive relationships. Understanding the underlying nature of difficulties and awareness of what was previously unconscious, can not only alleviate suffering but also enrich our lives.

Regular Sessions

A session is a weekly 50 minute appointment between client and therapist at the same time on the same day. The regularity and frequency of appointment is essential to the work, so deciding to attend therapy is a commitment. I offer both short term focused work and longer term open-ended therapy. We can discuss what would suit you in your first session.

Fees

My fee is 130 Swiss Francs per session. I offer concessionary rates for students and clients on lower incomes, or unemployed.

Making the First Appointment

You do not need to be referred by a doctor to to make an appointment. If you feel that you could benefit from the opportunity to talk frankly about your current situation, call or email me to set up a meeting. This one-off meeting is an opportunity for both of us to work out if we can work together, and to think about what you would like to get out of therapy. We can then arrange a weekly fifty minute session for you.

Online Sessions

Online sessions are arranged in a similar way. I can do online sessions either by telephone, or using video communication such as zoom.
